Karpathos


Karpathos is one of the most beautiful islands of Dodecanese. It is located on the southern side of the Aegean Sea, between Rhodes and Crete. Due to the secluded location and the distance from the other Greek islands, Karpathos island started developing in the last decades. In fact, the southern side of the island has mostly developed in tourism, while the central and the northern side has remained unspoiled and authentic, with picturesque villages away from mass tourism. Karpathos Greece is mostly famous for the exotic beaches with the golden sand and the crystal water. Holidays in Karpathos are ideal for families and trekkers, as the trekking paths that cross the island leads visitors to amazing spots. 

Karpathos island is located on the southern side of the Aegean Sea. This is a place with stunning beaches, strong character and marvelous hiking paths in the inland. The villages in the countryside of Karpathos are surrounded by imposing mountains and have distinctive traditional style. Olympos, Menetes and Othos are few of the most characteristic villages on the island. Karpathos beaches are also famous for their fantastic waters and the natural beauty. Apella Beach Karpathos: The sandy beach of Apella lies 18 km north of Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos. The beach is coil up in a picturesque cove and has fine white sand, boarding the azure and incredibly clean sea. 


Kyra Panagia Beach Karpathos: This beautiful sandy beach lies in a small cove right between the mountains and has a fine mixture of white sand and smooth pebbles, and crystalline waters. It is located 14 km north of Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos and close to Apella beach. This beach is considered to be one of the best beaches in Greece.


Achata Beach Karpathos: Achata is a wonderful and quiet beach with white pebbles and sand. It is located close to the beach of Agia Panagia, a few kilometres north-east of Pigadia. Achata is easy to reach by car or motorbike. 


Diakoftis Beach Karpathos: Diakoftis is located 21 km from Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos. The magnificent landscape is the main reason that one should definitely visit this beach. The white golden sand and the emerald waters is a combination that has created an exotic natural scenery


Pera Ammos Beach Karpathos: Pera Ammos is a beautiful sandy beach located 6 km south of Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos, below Ammopi settlement. With relatively shallow waters and soft sand, the beach is an ideal place for families. It is separated from Votsalakia Beach by a small peninsula.


Diakoftis Beach Karpathos: Diakoftis is located 20 km southwest of Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos. The magnificent landscape, white golden sand and the emerald waters are uniquely combined to offer an exotic natural scenery that attracts many visitors. A narrow strip of sand separates the beach.


Valias Beach Karpathos: Valias is a long pebbled beach with deep waters found 12 km south of Pigadia, the main town of Karpathos. Strong winds blow in the area which provide the best circumstances for windsurfing. The biggest part of the beach consists of pebbles and nice facilities like umbrellas, sunbeds and drinking water as well as a couple of restaurants in the wider region. Valias is easily accessed.
