Rhodes


Rhodes Greece is the largest and most popular island of Dodecanese. With 300 days of sunshine per year, Rhodes island is mostly famous for the romantic Old Town and the amazing beach resorts. The Old Town is among the best-preserved Medieval Towns of Europe, with strong walls, an impressive castle, paved paths and elegant stone mansions. A drive around the island will bring you to magnificent beaches, impressive sightseeing and picturesque villages. A lovely place is Lindos village with the Acropolis on top. The most tourist places are located close to Town, but you can also find many secluded places for total privacy around the island. Holidays in Rhodes can be combined with other Greek islands. 

Rhodes island is the largest in Dodecanese and among the most popular destinations in Greece. The Old Town of Rhodes is a true gem to walk around, a fantastic place from the past. The Street of the Knights, the Palace and Hippocrates Square are the main spots of Rhodes Old Town. Wonderful places around the island are Lindos, the Butterflies Valley and Prassonissi for windsurfing and kitesurfing. 


Tsambika beach Rhodes: The long sandy beach of Tsambika is located 25 km south of Rhodes town, under the imposing rock where it stands the miraculous Monastery of Tsambika. Turquoise waters and golden sands create a beautiful scenery, ideal to relax and enjoy the sun. Dozens of colorful beach facilities are available as well as Water sports for the most daring types. The wider region is very friendly and offers plenty of amenities, during night and day.


Prassonissi Rhodes: The long and large sandy beach of Prassonisi lies 85 south of Rhodes Town and 40 km south west of Lindos village. Prassonissi is known as a windsurfing paradise for many lovers of this sport. Particularly during the months of July and August, when the north winds called meltemi are blowing, the beach is crowded and every day you will enjoy skillful windsurfers. 


Ladiko Anthony Quinn beach Rhodes: The famous Anthony Quinn beach is located 20 km south of Rhodes town between the beaches of Faliraki and Ladiko. The original name of the beach is Vagies. The beach however was made famous by the film The Guns of Navarone that was actually filmed here. Since then the locals decided to name the beach after the great protagonist Antony Quinn. 


Ixia beach Rhodes: Ixia is a nice cosmopolitan resort located 5 km south of Rhodes town and is is mostly referred to as one of the most beautiful places in the island. It is a popular windsurfing destination. Over the years, the area has developed into an international meeting place that attracts many visitors, while it offers various types of accommodation from luxury hotels to apartments and rooms to let. Ixia village has delightful restaurants and traditional taverns to choose and plenty of bars to enjoy a drink. 


Rhodes Agathi: The small sandy beach of Agathi lies on a picturesque cove, nearby the beach of Haraki and the Medieval castle of Faraklos, 38 km south east of Rhodes City and 10 km north of Lindos village. The golden sands, along with the emerald waters, create a wonderful and attractive picture. Three canteens offer refreshments and snacks on the beach as well as sun beds, umbrellas rentals and showers.


Lindos Megali Paralia beach Rhodes: A large beach in a walking distance from the picturesque village of Lindos, Megali Paralia is a fully organized place with sunbeds, umbrellas, fish taverns and some water sports. The golden sand and the clean water amaze visitors. The environment has sparse vegetation and high hills, while at the background people can see the amphitheatrically built village of Lindos and the Acropolis on top of the mountain.
