Elafonissos

A tiny island south of Peloponnese, Elafonissos in Greece is a place for total relaxation. It is mostly famous for its Carribean beaches with the golden sand and the exotic waters. Nudism is discreetly practiced in some beaches of Elafonissos island, particularly in Mikros Simos beach. Simos and Panagia are the main and most fantastic beaches on the island. In the evenings, visitors head to the main town for a nice dinner and lounge drink. Holidays in Elafonissos can be combined with Kythira or other lovely destinations of southern Peloponnese, like Monemvasia and Gythio.

Simos Beach Elafonissos: It is no wonder that Simos is considered one of the best beaches on Elafonissos Island. More, the beach is considered to be one of the top beaches in Greece. Simos Beach is easy to reach by car, although the road needs some repairing. Simos consists of two beaches, Megalos (Large) Simos and Mikros (Small) Simos. Megalos Simos is the longest beach in Elafonissos and Mikros Simos can be accessed within a short walking distance from there. A narrow stretch of white sand divides these two magnificent beaches which are gifted with turquoise exotic waters. 

Sarakiniko Beach Elafonissos: If stunning views is what you are craving for, then you will love Sarakiniko Beach. It is the longest beach of Elafonissos with beautiful blue waters and white sand. There is a variety of good facilities and amenities on Sarakiniko, such as hotels, restaurants, bars, and camping sites. The place is easy to reach by car, although the paved road all the way down to the beach is not in excellent condition for its steep, twisted downhill and a bit narrow street. Nevertheless, the view from the main road is pretty good, and if you drive a little further towards Karavostasi beach, it gets even better. 

Lefki Beach Elafonissos: Due to the lack of bus service on the island of Elafonissos, Lefki beach can be accessed by car from the main village or on foot. The distance is no bigger then 4 or 5 km. Lefki is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on Elafonissos. Every year, it gets more and more popular without losing its tranquil atmosphere. The bright, smooth sand along with the bright, crystalline waters make Lefki a unique destination for swimming and sunbathing. The coast is protected by the south and south-west winds.
