Corfu Greece is among the most beautiful and popular islands of the country. Due to its strong historical connection with Europe, this was among the first Greek islands to open to tourism. Paleokastritsa Corfu: Paleokastritsa is arguably the most famous picturesque village of the island of Corfu located 25 km northwest of Corfu Town. The word Paleokastritsa literally means old fortress, witnessing the existence of such a castle on the rocky cave where now stands the Monastery of the Virgin. The village of Paleokastritsa offers a plethora of local taverns overlooking the blue bay and six sandy and pebbled beaches which are scattered all around the area. Those beaches are surrounded by olive tree forests creating a dramatic yet beautiful scenery.
Agios Gordios Corfu: It is one of the most popular beaches of Corfu and it took its name from the church of Agios Gordios located literally on the sea, at the centre of the beach. The beautiful cove is nested amongst the lush green mountain surrounded by olive tree forests, vineyards and impressive rocks.
Glyfada Corfu: One of the most popular beaches of the island, Glyfada is located 16 km west of Corfu Town. It is awarded with the Blue Flag for its crystal clear waters while the large surface of soft sand is surrounded by trees-covered cliffs and imposing rocky formations.
Nissaki Corfu: Nissaki is among the most beautiful beaches in Corfu. A lovely sandy shore surrounded by rock formations is ideally located between the villages Barbati and Kassiopi, 22 km north of the main town. This small beach that is situated well away from the road offers only a few tourist facilities.
Bataria Kassiopi Corfu: Bataria is a beautiful beach of Kassiopi, located 37 km from Corfu Town. Bataria is a small beach but it distinguishes for its wild beauty and perfect views of the Albanian mountains that make an ideal setting for your summer holidays.
Rovinia Corfu: Rovinia is a beautiful beach located in the wonderful area of Paleokastritsa. It is located 20 km from the main town of Corfu and it can be accessed by car or through a hiking path from Liapades. Rovinia stands out for its unique natural beauty that attracts many visitors who want to relax in the view of this stunning scenery. Tourist facilities would definitely disturb this unspoiled and tranquil environment as a result you will not find any, but the cave shaped rocks on the sides offer some natural shade.
